CELEBRATE 125 YEARS OF LEARN BY DOING AND MUSTANG PRIDE THIS FOUNDERS DAY!

On March 8, 1901, Governor Henry Gage signed legislation establishing Cal Poly. This exciting announcement came after a group of local citizens led by journalist Myron Angel had been lobbying for a state school in San Luis Obispo since 1894.

To commemorate this special day in Cal Poly's history, alumni communities and networks are hosting gatherings across the US March 6-8, 2026. Mix and mingle with fellow alumni, show off your green and gold and enjoy remarks from members of the Cal Poly Alumni Association Board of Directors and alumni staff.

Way back at the turn of the century, we met there as architecture undergrads and will always be grateful for the incredible education and amazing experiences we had in SLO.
